Online Application for 49TH SSC (TECH) MEN & 20TH SSC (TECH) WOMEN

Indian Army invites applications from married/unmarried male and female engineering candidates for the courses commencing on October 2017 at OTA, Chennai. The entries are direct entries i.e. the board does not hold any exams to get the SSB call. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their academic performance in their respective graduation degrees. All the three entries are for Short Service Commission and have certain eligibility criteria.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SSC (Tech)

Short Service Commission Tech is the entry for all engineering graduates. The entry is again for both men and women. The application form will be available from 23rd Jan to 22 Feb 2017.
• Indian nationals are eligible.
• Age Limit – The age limit for men and women for technical branch is 20 -27 years, as on October 2017 while for widows of defence personals (non-tech), 4 years relaxation is given( 19-29 years)
• Educational Qualification – The candidates who have engineering degrees in the respective streams or in the final year of engineering course as mentioned in the notification are eligible. For war widows, degree in any discipline will be accepted.

SSB Medical Test

Army medical test in India The candidate recommended by the service selection board will undergo a medical examination by the board of service medical officers.  Women candidates will undergo a medical check by a board consists of male/female doctors/gynaeocologist and medical specialists.  There will be a lady medical officer as the member of the board.  The proceedings of the medical board are confidential and will not be divulged to any one.   However the candidates declared unfit by the Special Medical Board (SMB) will be intimated by the president of the medical board.  The procedure for request of the Appeal Medical Board will also be requested and intimated to the candidate.  Unfit candidates should report to the Appeal Medical Board (AMB) within a maximum period of 42 days.  Candidates are advised to appear in the AMB well in time and should not wait for the last day given by the SMB.  Candidate are advised to  note that the Recruiting Directorate has no role to play in the
