Important days of Indian defense for 2015 and its glimpses

Army Day (67th) -15 January
     It is celebrated every year at all the Army Command headquarters and national capital by organizing army parades including many other military shows. This day inspires the troops to continue to enrich the glorious traditions of the Indian Army with their dedication and sacrifice.

REPUBLIC DAY (66th)-26 January
     For the first time in the history of India’s Republic Day, all-women contingent from the three forces Army, Air Force and Navy marched down, raj path in the parade. It was hosted by US president BARACK OBAMA as chief guest. CRPF’s anti-naxal Special Forces COMMANDO BATTALION FOR RESOLUTE ACTION (COBRA) marched on raj path for the first time.

Indian Air Force (IAF) DAY- 8 October 
     It celebrated its 83rd foundation day at the Hindon Air Force Station in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The Air Force Day Parade was held at the base along with the investiture ceremony. The Air Force Warrior drill team including women officers displayed rifle handling skills along with march past as part of the parade.
Various airplanes of the IAF were on display. The re-constituted Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team which was showcased for the first time. Also, planes like the Sukhoi-30 MKI, MIG-21, MIG-29, Globe master, Hercules and Mirage 2000 performed multiple manoeuvres. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was also present at the ceremony.

NAVY DAY(44rth) -4 December
      On this occasion, chief of the naval staff R.K DHOWAN along with air chief marshal ARUP RAHA and army chief general DALBIR SINGH SUHAG paid tributes to the martyrs at AMAR JAWAN JYOTHI in DELHI. The president and prime minister extended their greetings and felicitations to members of Indian navy and their families.

VIJAY DIWAS
It marks the (50th anniversary) golden jubilee of 1965 IND0-PAK WAR observed on august 28, 2015 which commemorates the victory of Indian soldiers against Pakistan at hajir pir pass, Kashmir. The president and chief of all three forces paid tributes to martyrs at AMAR JWAN JYOTHI, DELHI WAR MEMORIAL to be constructed at NEW DELHI under the committee of defence secretary, Mohan Kumar with an estimated cost of 500 crores.

The place of war is RAJASTHAN and a war museum namely JAISALMER WAR MUESEUM is situated at Rajasthan to commemorate the sacrifice of 1965 and 1971 war heroes.  A car rally was organised from Rajasthan to New Delhi named VICTORY CAR RALLY in the memory of 1965 riots.

INDIAN AIR FORCE organised an ULTRA MARATHON from air force station PATHANKHOT to HINDON-574 km over a period of 11 days.
