Online Applications for Pilot/Observer entry in Indian Navy for both Men and Women - December 2014 Course

The Indian Navy is Inviting Applications from young and energetic Graduates to join the force.  The Selected Candidates will be given Short Service Commission in the Flying Branch of the Indian Navy.

The Training Course is scheduled to Commence on December 2014 at Prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala.  Only Unmarried Male Candidates are eligible for Pilot entry fulfilling conditions regarding
nationality as laid down by the Government of India are needed to apply.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE?

  • GENERAL CANDIDATES: AGE: 19-24 YEARS i.e. Born between 02 Jan 1991 and 01 Jan 1996.
  • CPL HOLDERS: 19-25 YEARS Born between 02 Jan 1990 and 01 Jan 1996.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
GENERAL CANDIDATES: The Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a Recognized University with minimum 70% marks. The candidate must be 10+2 qualified with Physics and Mathematics.

CPL HOLDERS: The Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a Recognized University with minimum 60% marks. The candidate must be 10+2 qualified with Physics and Mathematics. The Candidate must possess valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued by DGCA (India).
Please note that those who have failed in Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) earlier are not eligible to apply for Pilot entry but can apply for Observer entry.
Candidates who are in their final year or not completed graduation are not needed to apply.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Height: Minimum height for men is 162.5 cms and for women is 152 cms with correlated weight, Leg length, Sitting Height and Thigh
length.

Vision: 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glass. A Candidate should not be Colour/Night Blind.

Along with the following documents:-
Self attested photograph, Attested photo copies of 10th & 12th class certificates along with Mark Sheets, other educational certificates and mark sheets of all semester/years attested by gazetted officer. Applications should be sent by Ordinary Post. Speed Post, Couriers, Registered Post etc. will not be accepted.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:-

Unlike regular procedure there will be a Preliminary Interview for Shortlisted Candidates at New Delhi prior to SSB. No rail fare or allowance will be admissible to candidates attending Preliminary interview at New Delhi. 
Candidates qualifying the Preliminary interview will be detailed for Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview at Bangalore /Bhopal/ Coimbatore followed by
medical examination at nearest Service Hospital.

SSB interview will be scheduled between June 2014 and October 2014 at Bangalore.
SSB interview will be conducted in Two Stages. Stage I test consisting of intelligence test, Picture Perception and Discussion Test will be conducted on
the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing,
Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03-05 days).

(i) For Pilot - PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Tests) followed by Aviation Medical examination.

(ii) For Observer - Aviation Medical examination Candidates recommended by the SSBs, cleared PABT (for Pilot Entry) and declared medically fit will be appointed for training based on merit list and
depending on the number of vacancies available.

Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible.
Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the President of the SSB on receipt of call up letter.
No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests during SSB.
Return 3rd AC rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for this Commission.
The training is scheduled to commence in Dec 2014.

Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Basic Naval Orientation Course at the Prestigious Indian Naval Academy INS Zamorin, Ezhimala Kerala. After this Candidates will undergo Stage-1 and Stage-2 Flying Training at Air Force/Naval Establishments in case of Pilot Officers.

For Observer officers, Basic Naval Orientation Course is followed by Flying traing at Observer School of Indian Navy Any candidate who is found to be married or marries while undergoing training will be discharged from service. He shall be liable to refund full pay& allowances  drawn by him and any other expenditure incurred by the Government.

One will start his career as a Sub Lieutenant and can reach up to Commander.
Promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on Time Scale Basis.
The Pay Scale for a Sub Lieutenant is PB-3/15600-39100 + Grade Pay of 5400 +
Military Service Pay of 6000 + DA + HRA + TA etc.  The Gross Monthly Salary would be approximately Rs.83500/--
