Officer Entry for Musicians in Indian Navy

The Indian Navy is Inviting Applications from young and energetic Musicians to join the force.
The Selected Candidates will be given Permanent Commission in the Executive Branch of the 
Indian Navy.  The Training Course is scheduled to Commence on July 2014 at Prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala.  Only Unmarried Male Candidates fulfilling conditions regarding nationality as laid down by the Government of India are needed to apply.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE?

AGE: 21-25 YEARS Born between 01 July 1989 and 02 July 1993.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a Recognized University. It is necessary to have fluency in written and spoken English.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION: The Candidate must have a Grade-5 certificate or above for Piano, from any of the recognized board such as Trinity College of London, 
Associated Board of Royal School of Music or London College of Music or Bangalore Conservatory of Music.
MUSICAL ABILITY: The ability to play a Brass instrument such as Trumpet/Cornet, Horn, Euphonium, Baritone or a Woodwind instrument such as Western Flute, Clarinet, Oboe  or any Bow string instrument such as Violin Viola Cello is a must. It is mandatory to have 
a fundamental knowledge of the pianoforte. The Candidate must be in possession of one of the Certificates of the following Diploma/Equivalent 1. LRAM 2. ARCM 3. ATCL
EXPERIENCE: Those who are having experience in Teaching Music at a registered Music Academy/Institution will be given preference.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Height: Minimum height of 157 cms with correlated weight.
Vision: 6/60, 6/60 correctable to 6/6, 6/12 with glass. A Candidate should not be Colour/Night Blind.

HOW TO APPLY?
It is to be noted that there is no Online Application Facility for this entry. 
Candidates who meet the eligibility conditions as mentioned above need to download the Application Form from the Indian Navy Career website 
www.nausena-bharti.nic.in . Please make sure that the form is completed in all respects. The applications incomplete and/or which are not exactly as per the 
prescribed format will be rejected. 
A Self Attested Photograph must be pasted with the application form on the mentioned area. 
Documents such as Attested Copies of Matriculation Certificates for the verification of Date of Birth, Degree Certificate, Diploma in Music Certificates 
(LRAM, ARCM, ATCL), Experience certificate and any other Certificates claimed by the candidate as proof of qualification along with respective mark sheets 
should be Attached with the Application Form.

Applications should be sent by Ordinary Post. Speed Post, Couriers, Registered Post etc. will not be accepted.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:-

Unlike regular procedure there will be a Preliminary Interview for Shortlisted Candidates at New Delhi prior to SSB. No rail fare or allowance will be 
admissible to candidates attending Preliminary interview at New Delhi. 
Candidates qualifying the Preliminary interview will be detailed for Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview at Bangalore /Bhopal/ Coimbatore followed by 
medical examination at nearest Service Hospital.
SSB interview will be scheduled between March 2014 and April 2014.
AC 3 tier rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if the candidate is appearing for the first time for this type of commission.

TRAINING
The training is scheduled to commence in Jul 2014.  Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Basic Naval orientation Course at the Prestigious Indian Naval Academy INS Zamorin, Ezhimala Kerala. After this Candidates will undergo an initial professional course at INS Kunjali, Mumbai. Final Phase of Training will be done at Army School of Music, Pachmarhi for 3 years. Full pay and allowances are admissible to officers whilst under training.

Any candidate who is found to be married or marries while undergoing training will be discharged from service. He shall be liable to refund full pay& allowances drawn by him and any other expenditure incurred by the Government.

PAY AND PERKS

One will start his career as a Sub Lieutenant and can reach up to Commodore.   Promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on Time Scale Basis.  The Pay Scale for a Sub Lieutenant is PB-3/15600-39100 + Grade Pay of 5400 + Military Service Pay of 6000 + DA + HRA + TA etc.
The Gross Monthly Salary would be approximately Rs.66500/-
