OODA Loop for Military Operations and Decision Making

Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act principles for Group Planning Exercise of Military Planning Exercise

Friends, here i want  to give you about the factors which are looked at you on the group planning exercise at your 3rd day of selection process.  This tasks clearly show cases your 15 officer like qualities to the GTO and dont worry about how to show case that to the GTO.  Just concentrate on what he says and follow the below steps to solve out the given problem/model at test.  Automatically, you will show your OLQ up to the maximum.

Lets start,
Guys basically all the mission oriented military operations are carried out by a principle called as OODA(Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act).  And in our selection, we get the same scenarios only. i.e. rescuing some one, stopping the thief from looting the temple, stopping the derailment, handling the accident etc.  Like this, you are given set of problems as missions and implement the below techniques (OODA) and you can easily find solutions for the problems.  Here I have described each topics
and its implementations in the mission.

Observe
Every officer is trained with this aspect only and the same is expected from the officer cadet or candidates, the officer has to observe the environment and note down the available materials which includes both human (number of men, women) and non human(car, ferry, telephone etc).  This observation may also includes the imaginary things which can be unmasked after the execution of certain things.
i.e. you can get  a wireless set from a security person who is at sentry post of an factory which is 250 meters away from you.

Orient
Here, the officer has to orient the available resources effectively.
Example:- If the officer has a person who knows to drive a jeep and a person who knows swimming.  Then he has to allocate tasks based on the skill the person can perform, so the person who knows to swim  can be allocated with ferry to cross a river and the person who knows driving can be allocated with jeep.
Like, this the orientation deals with effective utilization of men and materials.

Decide
This is the third phase in mission where the priority and severity of the problem works.  The officer has
to decide the priority of the problems in his mission  based on its severity.  With this, he has to number the problems in ascending order based on its priority level and utilize the available resources
effectively in its order.

Act
This is the execution phase and last phase of any military missions which results in success with minimum or zero damage to his men and materials.

Right gentlemen,
The same OODA you have to implement in your group planning exercise of military planning exercise on the 3rd of group tasks.  The GTO Expects the same from you.  Final part is narration right, dont worry about this.  If you are clear with your execution steps, automatically you get good points to convince your team mates and to lead the group.

Also, we can implement this OODA strategy in all the decision making of our daily routines or tasks.  This is simply powerful.

Note:- If someone has good points than you, then kindly accept that rather than debating as Group Dynamics is important for an good officer.
