How to join in Technical branch of Indian Air Force as an Officer


Technical Branch:-
The Entry for the technical branch is by two modes,
1)      UES – University Entry Scheme
2)      AEC – Aeronautical Engineering Course
For these two entries, you have to write the AFCAT – Air Force Common Admission Test.

Candidates below 25 years should be unmarried
Gender
Men(Permanent Commission), Women (Short Service Commission)

UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME:-
  • Students should study their final year of their engineering degree
  • Only male candidates are allowed for this entry through permanent commission.
  • No backlog arrears i.e. you should not attend the AFSB testing with arrears.  You should clear all your arrears before going to AFSB.   Also, while finishing the degree you should have 60% aggregate with all papers together.

AERONAUTICAL ENGINEER COURSE:-

  • You can apply for this during final year/semester or after completion of your degree.
  • Men (Permanent Commission), Women (Short Service Commission) both can apply.
  • The candidate should score 60 % aggregate by putting all papers together at the time of application which will be represented in every individual notifications.
  • Final year students can also attend the selection process, but they should prove that they don’t have any current backlogs.

SSB Medical Test

Army medical test in India The candidate recommended by the service selection board will undergo a medical examination by the board of service medical officers.  Women candidates will undergo a medical check by a board consists of male/female doctors/gynaeocologist and medical specialists.  There will be a lady medical officer as the member of the board.  The proceedings of the medical board are confidential and will not be divulged to any one.   However the candidates declared unfit by the Special Medical Board (SMB) will be intimated by the president of the medical board.  The procedure for request of the Appeal Medical Board will also be requested and intimated to the candidate.  Unfit candidates should report to the Appeal Medical Board (AMB) within a maximum period of 42 days.  Candidates are advised to appear in the AMB well in time and should not wait for the last day given by the SMB.  Candidate are advised to  note that the Recruiting Directorate has no role to play in the
